Laura worked for two years as a Funstar for Haven Holidays, to gain as much experience as possible in entertainment. As well as learning to DJ, become a quiz-master and sing in the shows, she also mastered the art of presenting and communicating on the mic – a skill which has now become invaluable and makes her current gigs explosive!
The Party/Disco experience is astounding as Laura is constanly up-to-date with the latest mixes and mash-ups. Her speciality discos usually consist of 70s, 80s & 90s! Specialising in family parties, Laura can include entertainment for everyone including kids' games, adult games and a mega party dance set including all the favourites like YMCA, Agadoo, Music Man and Macarena.
100% professional and dedicated to her job, Laura goes the extra mile and performs her socks off to make sure everyone has the BEST time – even the bar staff/management (from whom she always receives rapturous feedback and compliments on her lively character!)
Laura’s karaoke experience is second-to-none, often with one of her spectacular renditions of an Eminem song to get the crowd hyped up! Laura has run hugely successful and professional singing competitions over several weeks using her own overtures, loops, links and her super 32-bit multi-effects processor!

| EXPERIENCE:  Haven gave me a great opportunity to extend my skills in the entertainment business. As part of a large entertainment team for two seasons I had to do everything asked of me. I was a stage vocalist appearing both in shows with other team members, and performing my own cabaret spot at least once a week. I assisted in kids clubs for the toddlers, youngsters and teenagers, building a rapport with the extremely difficult latter age-group! I also gained experience of skin character work appearing in characters for stage shows and personal appearances.
I became a very experienced bingo caller and checker often with hundreds of people playing for a lot of money. I also became very competant at selling raffle tickets for prize bingo!
However, my biggest achievement over the two years was becoming extremely competent in the DJ box doing sound and lighting. The DJ box at both parks soon became my second home as I was one of the most competent on my teams. I also became a great DJ playing sounds from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and up-to-date music. My discos – ranging from two to four per week – often lasted for over three hours!
We had big acts like Jimmy James & the Vagabonds, The Four Tops (for whom I did spotlight work), The Krankies and Keith Harris & Orville (whom I appeared with in ‘The Big Laugh Show’.)
I now run my own disco/cabaret/party nights and have had great experience running singing competitions. My most recent was in Hertfordshire (Litten Tree Idol) which ran for several weeks. This was super using my Haven skills and sound tracks. Heats would run over several weeks followed by a final. The pub was packed out every week! EMPLOYMENT: Bourne Leisure Ltd
